The clothes that William Payne is wearing appear to be from the 1870's era.
The jacket has a velvet collar, and is double-breasted. The tie is also from that era.
William Wilson Payne, 1806 - 1880, would have been about 64 in 1870.
Mahalath Haworth Payne, 1813 - 1884, would have been about 57 in 1870.
