William Wilson Payne was born 27 December 1806 in Nashville, Tennessee, was married to Mahalath Haworth on 23 February 1832, and died 19 May 1880. His parents were Henry Ross Payne and Rachel Clawson.
Mahalath Haworth was born 23 December 1813 (possibly in Ohio) and died 20 July 1884 in California. Her parents were William Haworth and Ruth Wright.
William and Mahalath had eleven children; their first daughter, Ruth Payne, born 2 February 1836 in Vermillion County, Illinois (I have recently found a reference that indicates Indiana in 1837), was my great-great grandmother.
