Aaron Doty was born January 8, 1836 in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. In 1860, he married Hannah Amanda Talbott; they had five children.

The children were:
Sarah Nettie	b 18 June 1863; m William Luther McCrery; had two children, Mae Hannah McCrery and Emma McCrery.
Martha Etta	My great-grandmother. b 26 October 1865; m David Sturrock Brown; two children, Mildred Knox Brown and Margaret Brown; d 8 December 1915.
James Talbott	b 24 December 1868
Olive Mabel	b 3 November 1872; d 22 October 1878.
George A. E.	b 16 October 1877; d 26 October 1878.

Our Doty family is descended from Edward Doty, who came to America on the Mayflower in 1620.
