Leaves From My Family Tree

Wedding Ring Quilt

Wedding Ring Quilt

This quilt is especially precious to me because it brings together not only the generations, but also the families: it was pieced by my great-grandmother, and quilted by my mother-in-law.

This quilt was pieced by my Great-grandmother, Minerva Bever Henderson, sometime in the 1930's or 1940's. My mother recognizes some of the fabric pieces as being from her 4-H projects, and others from school clothes that were made by her Grandmother.

In 1983, when my father-in-law was struggling with cancer, my mother-in-law, Miriam Rae Cornell, needed a project to help her through the stress. Mom gave her the quilt top and Miriam did the quilting.
